CAD Exchanger GUI is an intuitive easy-to-use end-user Windows application that allows to view and to convert files across different CAD formats.

Each supported format is packaged as a separate plug-in dynamically loaded during run-time when conversion to/from this format is requested.

The user is able to explore model contents by browsing an internal model structure – vertices, edges, faces, shells, solids and so on.

To customize conversion, a user can specify various parameters such as desired target representation (e.g. Solids or Groups of trimmed surfaces in IGES), preferred curve representation (3D or 2D in surface parametric space in STEP), target ACIS version and so on.

CAD Exchanger offers various display modes – wireframe, shading, shading with boundaries. An auxiliary mode - internal surface triangulation – allows to visualize internal triangular mesh used to display the model in shading view as well as to convert to mesh formats (VRML, STL, X3D, etc).

To balance visualization quality with a size of the model the user can set specify triangulation precision. The latter also affects quality of conversion into mesh formats.

To facilitate creation of marketing collateral and other graphical materials, CAD Exchanger can save 3D views in graphical formats (e.g. PNG and BMP).

CAD Exchanger GUI internally uses CAD Exchanger SDK to perform conversion.
